An out of this world Easter

Winchester Science Centre & Planetarium, on the edge of South Downs National Park in Hampshire, combines science, stargazing and family fun this Easter, including an ‘oviparity egg hunt’ to find and learn about eggs laid by animals that hatch. A new Easter tale with the Science Inspirers also explores what happens when animals hatch. Plus, zoom into the stars for a family space adventure during Solar System Quest in The Planetarium and subtitled Planetarium film show, We Are Aliens. The Easter events run 4 April – 22 April 2025, with tickets costing from £12.90 per person, when booked in advance.

A basketful of family-friendly fun

Head to the gardens at England’s greatest Elizabethan house from 7-21 April 2025 for Burghley House’s Easter treats, including the popular Easter Egg Treasure Hunt. Younger visitors can hunt for hidden clues to solve the seasonal puzzle and claim an Easter Egg, while grown-ups can challenge themselves too with tricky questions for adults included along the trail. Plus, there are seasonal craft workshops. Included with normal admission (from £20 for adults, £9 children and £52 for a family).

Go down the rabbit hole…

Hop into Lincolnshire’s first immersive Easter experience with the Easter Extravaganza at Lincolnshire’s Rand Farm Park. Youngsters can explore The Easter Bunny’s Burrows, with every child receiving a free Easter egg. The full Easter Extravaganza event runs from 5 – 22 April, but from 31 March – 4 April, there are Mid-Week Easter Experiences, a special evening on 5 April to explore the burrows, after-hours, for younger visitors with additional needs. Tickets cost from £15.95 for adults, £18.95 children (two years and over).

The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party features a whimsical trip to Wonderland, from the team behind the Polar Express Train Ride. Visitors can immerse themselves in Lewis Carroll’s book series as they join the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter, and more for a one-hour round-trip train ride with entertainment. Families can also join the Big Easter Egg Hunt on 20 April, with prizes and a chance to meet the Easter Bunny. Tickets from £26.08 for adults and £22.48 for children (3-16 years)

Alpaca snap anyone?

While lambs and bunnies might be more associated with this time of year, how about spending Easter with some alpacas? From 18-22 April 2025, Wetley Moor Alpacas in Bucknall, near Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, is staging Easter with the Alpacas when visitors will be able to get up close, meet and feed its resident animals. Of course, there will be an Alpaca Easter Egg Hunt, too, and even the chance for an Easter family photo with the woolly mammals. Tickets cost £10 adults and £15 children (3-16 years).

Regency adventures
