A historic cast iron cannon, which could date back as far as the late 17th Century, has been unearthed in Hull’s Queen’s Gardens during work on a multimillion-pound restoration project. Measuring about 8.5ft long, and believed to weigh over a tonne, the cannon is now being assessed by specialists. The Queens Gardens redevelopment is part of the £65m Hull Maritime project. https://bit.ly/4kHiEe9
