Take a step back in time to follow in the footsteps of Peter Capaldi and Dev Patel at one of the real-life locations for new movie ‘The Personal History of David Copperfield’, and discover the fascinating history of Hull, Yorkshire’s maritime city.
Hull’s historic Old Town was transformed into Dickensian England for Armando Iannucci’s latest movie- released in UK cinemas on 24 January – when some of the city’s most historic streets were taken over by film crews in July 2018.
Hollywood stars were spotted in locations such as Bowlalley Lane and Manor Street, with Doctor Who’s Peter Capaldi and Dev Patel, who plays David Copperfield, filming scenes.
