It’s child play for new £3m East Yorkshire attraction

Spring 2017 will see a brand new £3m kids adventure centre open on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, offering an ‘indoor-meets-outdoor’ attraction aimed at children of all ages.

Featuring what is believed to be the UK’s largest indoor timber play experience, William’s Den is being described as a “nostalgic nod to a bygone era of child’s play”.

Opening in March 2017 at North Cave, East Yorkshire, the indoor-meets-outdoor timber crafted play adventure centre boasts a 475sqm play barn plus extensive outdoor play – including a 50metre zip wire, den-making area and ‘mountains and molehills’ for kids to run, jump and roll around freely.

Indoor activities will feature a bespoke play adventure including a stream, rainmaker water cascade, unique climbing structures, nets, tree house and bridges.

While aimed at creating a child’s play paradise, the grown-ups will also be catered for, with a restaurant serving wood fired pizzas in a restored brick barn, an ice cream parlour and barista served coffees. A free play area for toddlers will be accessible from the coffee zone.

Owners, and husband and wife team, Tor and Christian Carver both grew up on farms and have been inspired by the great outdoors to create somewhere for children to play freely in natural surroundings.

Their new adventure attraction aims to inspire and challenge children with a natural play experience, giving them freedom and space to play inside and out. Children with disabilities are also catered for, with some of the play facilities and experiences accessible at ground floor level.

For all-weather fun, the play barn recreates natural outdoors play inside with natural light from huge windows and big sliding doors.

Set on a hill in the picturesque village of North Cave, on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, William’s Den is 10 miles from the medieval minster town of Beverley, and also within easy reach of the M62.
