It’s the last chance to see Yorkshire’s only dinosaur visitor attraction. A dinosaur and fossil shop with an interactive exhibition, Dinostar is billed as a children’s museum with dinosaurs that you can see, touch, hear and even smell! Based in the Fruit Market area, and close to The Deep and Hull Marina, highlights include a Tyrannosaurus rex skull, Triceratops bones you can touch and an interactive Sand Box where you can build a volcano.

Enjoy 100s of the world’s best gins, rums and tequilas. Visitors can enjoy a cocktail bar, craft beers, and street food, plus live music and DJ’s all within the Trinity Market, Hull’s oldest covered market. The historic market in a recently refurbished Grade 11 listed building has re-emerged as a foodie haven with a host of street food stalls, as well as the venue for popular events, including live music.

This unique exhibition is an official event of the Japan Season of Culture in the UK. It brings together contemporary art and private collections of Japanese art and craft from across East Yorkshire. The core of the exhibition is a never before shown collection of traditional Japanese toys from local collector Jane Irisa. The exhibition also features a display of traditional and vintage kimono, joyful souvenirs and good-luck charms, and a unique set of gifts from the Japanese Imperial Court.

Derby Book Festival hosts not one, but two annual Festivals. The Autumn Edition 2021, taking place over a weekend in November, features 10 events in QUAD, Derby, plus one event in Derby Theatre. The Autumn event will be another hybrid festival with a choice of in-person, live streamed and recorded events, and will include a range of the most popular genres: politics, thrillers and biography.

Derbyshire County Cricket Club’s popular Fireworks Night and Fun Fair will return to The Incora County Ground to light up the sky once again. Derby’s biggest Fireworks Night is back with a bumper crowd of more than 10,000 visitors set to enjoy the adrenaline-fuelled thrill rides and classic Bonfire Night food, all followed by a dazzling fireworks display.

Part of the Derby Season of Light 2021, lanterns of all shapes and sizes will illuminate a path through the city centre.  Everyone who has been involved in the lantern making workshops will be invited to gather at the Spot (St.Peter’s Street) at 4pm, to start the lantern parade, which will be led by the mighty Dhol drummers, followed by hundreds of people and school children holding colourful lanterns.

This will be the town’s final Mayflower 400 anniversary commemoration event, marking the town’s connections to the Pilgrim’s story. For this year’s eventy, there will be digital projections on the walls of Gainsborough Old Hall, a self-led Pilgrim Survival arts trail, and a chance to walk through the fire garden. Illuminate Gainsborough online will also take place on Thursday 25 November, the 400th anniversary of the first Pilgrim thanksgiving feast.

Since its inception in 2010, the AMCA Skegness Motocross Beach Race has grown in to one of the largest off-road events in the UK – and it’s back in the Lincolnshire coastal resort for 2021. After being cancelled last year, the annual Skegness beach event returns with races for solo motorcycles, quads and sidecars   on 6-7 November. Spectating is free, but the public car parks are Council managed and seasonal charges will apply. Specialist trade stands as well as beachside food concessions will also be open for the event.

England’s greatest Elizabethan house hosts a luxury gift fair and seasonal food market, all in a picture postcard setting with the magnificent Tudor house as a backdrop. The Christmas event at Burghley, on the edge of the Georgian stone town of Stamford, has become a firm festive favourite and usually features more than 100 exhibitors with festive chalets and stalls spread across a larger area to give visitors more space and choice. As well as the heated marquees packed with Christmas ideas, there will also be additional seasonally decorated log-cabin type stalls too For even more seasonal shopping, Burghley’s popular pop-up Christmas Shop will be open during the event, while Burghley’s Orangery Restaurant has festive menus, including a popular Christmas Afternoon Tea.

Hosted on the closest weekend in November, the Alton Towers Resort’s Bonfire Night fireworks event spans three days, celebrating the end of the Theme Park season with the ultimate Fireworks spectacle. The Theme Park is open every day until 9pm with fireworks at 7pm, allowing guests to enjoy a day of rides and entertainment, see a world class fireworks show and then ride the rides afterwards in the dark.

This November sees the return of the profound and evocative sound and light exhibition, Poppy Fields, which was originally created by award-winning Luxmuralis in 2016, and revisited in 2018 to mark the centenary of end of the First World War. This all-embracing sound and light show will see poppies cascade down the ceiling, walls and floor of the stunning 900-year-old Cathedral, calling us to remember all those who have fought so valiantly for our peace and safety. Accompanying the projections will be specially composed music by David Harper and poetry recorded by Oscar-winning actor, Eddie Redmayne.

Billed as the ‘Best Fireworks Party in the South’, The Ageas Bowl’s spectacular annual fireworks party returns, for the first time since November 2019, with a whole host of family entertainment. The home of Hampshire Cricket will play host to a funfair, music, giveaways, and of course fireworks, in what promises to be another spectacular autumnal occasion. As usual, the fireworks display will be choreographed to an epic soundtrack, and food and drink options will be available around the ground.

And there’s not just prehistoric activities to get involved in, there’ll also be two live Planetarium shows and huge live science demos to inspire all ages.
