Sparkling Bridlington is set to be extra cool

Christmas on the coast will come early this year in East Yorkshire – as Bridlington aims to become one of the country’s coolest seaside destinations.

New for 2024, the Bridlington Ice Trail will see a series of ice sculptures take shape throughout the heart of the town this November.

Themed ‘Christmas on the Coast,’ the free event, on 16 November, will feature sculptures depicting Christmas and maritime scenes, reflecting Bridlington’s rich coastal heritage.

Guiding visitors on a festive journey, extra treats will be in store along the way, including interactive displays and live ice carving, where blocks of ice are transformed into glistening coastal seasonal masterpieces.

Throughout the day, there will be fire and ice shows, culminating in a spectacular finale. Three 15-minute performances will feature ice sculpting using chainsaws and power tools, synchronised with a choreographed pyrotechnic display set to music.

Set to be one of the highlights of East Yorkshire’s Christmas events season, the trail coincides with a weekend of seasonal entertainment in the seaside resort.

Along with the town’s Christmas tree being lit up, Bridlington’s Christmas Food Festival will also be taking place over the weekend on King Street.

The trail is funded through the UK Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
