Saturday nights are alright at Trentham

Follow the ‘Yellow Brick Road’ this August and, for one night only, enjoy some of Elton John’s music as it brings ‘Crocodile Rock’ to the lakeside of Trentham Gardens.

Hot on the heels of a new musical biopic Rocketmanstarring Taron Egerton wowing cinema audiences, and the great man himself recently picking up France’s highest civilian award, the new lakeside stage at Trentham will be hosting A Tribute to Elton John.

Everyone – from ‘Bennie and the Jets’, to the Trentham audience! – will be in their element on 24 August for a night of hits in a tribute to one of the world’s greatest singer songwriters as part of the Trentham Estate’s sizzling summer line-up of Saturday night live music concerts.

This year a new stage, offering a better view for bigger crowds, means that the hot summer Saturdays will see 15 evening concerts to mark 15 years of the garden re-opening to the public – with crowds set to dance the night away to everything from tributes to George Michael, and ‘Monsters of Rock’ to ‘Absolute Noughties’.

Six summer concerts have already sold out, and tickets are going fast for many of the tribute acts set to serenade summer crowds in August through to early September.

With more than 30 albums to his name – plus an Oscar and Grammy Award for musical scores – Elton John’s incredible catalogue of hits will mean crowds are sure to be chanting ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’as ‘Your Song’echoes around the beautiful lakeside setting.

A Tribute to Elton Johnis just one of 2019’s winning line-up of Saturday evening music, the biggest-ever concert programme aimed at celebrating the 15thanniversary of the historic estate re-opening to the public.

Thanks to The Trentham Estate’s investment in a new stage, more people than ever before will be able to enjoy concerts, with up to 3,000 tickets available for each event.

The remaining line-up with some ticket availability left is: 6 July, A Tribute to Coldplay; 20 July, Absolute Noughties; 27 July, Monster Rock Anthems; 10 August, A Tribute to Elton John; 17 August, Soul Legends; 7 September, A Tribute to George Michael; and as a rousing finale there’s the chance to go back to the Totally 90s again on 14 September.

Whichever summer date tempts, all the concerts run from 7.30pm until 10pm (gates open at 4.30pm).

As well as being treated to the lakeside evening views and music, visitors will be able to enjoy some of the finer flavours of summer too, with a Gin and Prosecco Bar; while little tubs of Snugburys ice cream will also be available.

Advance tickets cost £14.50 for Annual Ticket Holders and £17.50 for non-members.
