This May, East Yorkshire coast’s dramatic cliffs will play host to some of the world’s largest inflatable kites for the third annual Bridlington Kite Festival.
Kites of all descriptions, sizes and colours will be back in the air for two days of aerial displays over Sewerby Fields, adding a splash of colour to the cliff tops above the popular seaside resort of Bridlington.
Previous years have seen everything take to the air – from flying frogs to sky-high snakes, and leaping lizards to daredevil dragons.
Hundreds of spectators are expected to watch a number of internationally renowned experts who will be back to provide spectacular displays for the crowds over the weekend of Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May 2018.
As well as professional demonstrations and teams of two and four line kite flyers performing sequences to music, visitors – particularly children – will have their own chance to have a go with kites available for loan during supervised sessions within the event arena.
Hosted by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and the Northern Kite Group, the Kite Festival, which is subject to reasonable wind and weather conditions, will be free to spectate and open 10am – 5pm both days.
