Set on the picturesque Southsea seafront in the maritime city of Portsmouth, Victorious is one of the UK’s most scenic festivals – and now also ranked as one of the country’s best value music events.
Already regarded as Britain’s biggest metropolitan festival, a recent value for money survey saw Victorious placed third overall in a top 10 of music festivals, in addition to scoring highly as the festival likely to have the best weather ().
For the first time this year’s event will see three full days of entertainment over the summer Bank Holiday weekend, 25 to 27 August, with the whole site now open on the Friday, as well as the Saturday and Sunday.
A firm favourite with fans, the festival not only features music – with a stellar line-up of acts headlined by Mumford & Sons, Kasabian and Jamiroquai – but also entertainment, comedy, food and drink, along with a Kids Arena including music, arts and crafts, circus skills and a beach area.
With a diverse line-up of artists, ranging from rock and pop to electronic and indie music, other acts across the rest of the weekend include Ellie Goulding, Alt-J, The Charlatans, Jake Bugg and The Divine Comedy. Pete Tong will also bring the Essential Orchestra and Jules Buckley on Friday for ‘Ibiza Classics’.
An extra attraction this year will be beach soccer. As a sponsor of the England Women’s Beach Soccer Team, Victorious will see the medal-winning team host taster sessions and penalty shoot-outs for kids throughout the festival.
Tickets cost from £70 per person per day, or £190 for the weekend, and from £210 including offsite camping.
