Create a #MyStokeStory yourself

Stoke-on-Trent launched a new “Cultural Destinations” campaign earlier this summer, in which all visitors to venues, events and tourist attractions across The Potteries were asked to share their experiences and photographs across social media channels using the hashtag #MyStokeStory.

A legacy from Stoke-on-Trent’s 2021 UK City of Culture bid, the campaign coincides with a year of major anniversaries in Stoke-on-Trent in 2019, including 10 years of the Staffordshire Hoard at the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, 10 years of the British Ceramics Biennial, 15 years of Trentham Gardens, 130 years of Burleigh at Middleport and 260 years of Wedgwood.

Now, all visitors are being invited to create their very own #MyStokeStory by exploring the hidden treasures of Stoke-on-Trent, contained in a new leaflet available throughout Stoke-on-Trent & The Potteries.

It’s a leaflet which highlights 20 Stoke Treasures in and around the city, ranging from the distinctive bottle ovens at Gladstone Pottery Museum and Middleport Pottery, to Emma Bridgewater’s famous spots, Wedgwood’s blues and Trentham Garden’s fairies.

Selfie spots and instantly Instagramable locations are also highlighted throughout the leaflet a making it easy to join a growing trend for everyone to share #MyStokeStory.

Anyone who visits, shares and inspires – tagging their stories with the hashtag #MyStokeStory – will also automatically be entered into a monthly prize draw to win tickets to upcoming events.
