For the third year in a row, Trentham has been awarded a prestigious Gold Accolade in the annual VisitEngland Attraction Quality Scheme assessment.
Staffordshire’s Trentham Gardens was awarded its latest top honour when national tourist body, VisitEngland, revealed the results of its Visitor Attraction Accolades, which recognise attractions where the visitor experience is of the highest quality.
Announcing the Gold award, VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes said: “These attractions offer a warm welcome, unique story-telling, high quality food and drink and unparalleled customer service and rightly deserve these accolades. They provide visitors with amazing experiences and create reasons to travel the length and breadth of the country, increasing the economic benefits of tourism.”
As part of the quality scheme, an assessor rates attractions on the complete visitor experience, from checking out the website to testing out the customer care experience during a secret visit.
Trentham, on the edge of Stoke-on-Trent, passed all of those checks with flying colours to clinch Gold – for the third year running.
“This is a fantastic achievement yet again for everyone here at Trentham, and is a terrific tribute to all of our team who work so hard to make sure visitors have a great experience every time they visit. We are thrilled to have been awarded Gold for the third year in a row,” said Michael Walker, Trentham’s Head of Garden and Estate.
Not only is Trentham a hit with assessors, but its top quality experience has helped drive visitor numbers too – now making Trentham Gardens one of the top four most visited paid-for gardens in England.
As well as being able to discover ‘fairies at the bottom of the garden’ on the Fairy Trail, discover bronze wildlife artworks, meander in a maze and get naked from the knees down at The Barefoot Walk, visitors can indulge in retail therapy at the recently expanded popular Shopping Village and stroll amongst free-roaming monkeys in an ancient Staffordshire woodland at Trentham Monkey Forest.
Add in to that mix an award-winning gardens and parkland, including newly extended lakeside meadows, open air theatre and lakeside concerts, and it’s not hard to see why Trentham, on the edge of Stoke-on-Trent, proves a popular spot for a top day out.
